I have some unfortunate news to share here: I had a bit of an accident recently and ended up with a broken arm. Thankfully, I’ll be ok. The bones are aligned, the cast is set, and the x-rays are looking downright handsome. It does, however, unfortunately mean that we’ve had to reschedule a number of shows originally slated for April and May, along with the record release.
Hope this finds you well. I’m thrilled to announce that we’ll be releasing the new record, “Whorls” on April 13th, through Compass Records, under the artist name “Kittel & Co.” Moving forward, we’ll also be performing together as “Kittel & Co.” (Check out our tour dates below!).We can’t wait to share this album with you all, and to kick things off, we’re releasing the first single,...
Award-winning Fiddler Jeremy Kittel Debuts As Bandleader At Telluride Bluegrass
By Susan Viebrock. June 10, 2017.
Excerpt: “The rough mixes Jeremy sent me from this project are my most listened-to music of 2017,” said Brian Eyster, marketing guru, Planet Bluegrass. “It brings together Celtic, old-time, jazz, and classical with rich melodies and textures. This is a transportive sound that...
Hey all, I’m really honored to have played violin in the string quartet on a bunch of tracks on Fleet Foxes’ new record, “Crack-Up,” just released! It’s so inspiring to get to jump into the middle of the process sometimes on other people’s records, and this one is exquisite.
Hey all! We’ve got a couple new updates over on our Pledge page: a video from Mixtown, plus an in-depth Q&A. You can check them out here:
That mythical mountain haven of acoustic music, the legendary Telluride Bluegrass Festival. We’re super pumped to be joining the lineup for the 44th festival, this June. So many of our heroes have played here; it’s a real honor to be invited. We’ll be playing music from the new album, which is nearly done, and if you haven’t checked it out, can do so here.
A sincere, HUGE thanks to everyone for helping us reach our PledgeMusic goal! We’re now in good shape to be able to finish the album and get it out in fine form, very soon. I’ll keep posting updates on PledgeMusic throughout the process; so stick around. Thanks so much!!
Today we’re launching our PledgeMusic campaign for the new album! You can check it out here.

“I WAS ENTERTAINED, MESMERIZED, AND MOVED BY THE SOUND THAT LEAPT OFF OF THE STAGE… FROM A DELICATE JIG TO A CELTIC REEL TO A BACH PARTITA TO A CONTEMPORARY ORIGINAL ACOUSTIC COMPOSITION… ARRANGEMENTS THAT WERE FLAWLESS, ARTFUL, AND COMPELLING… I WOULD GO OUT OF MY WAY TO HEAR THIS OUTFIT AGAIN!”

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve sent an update to this list, and I hope this finds you well. The past few months have been packed with shows, album prep, writing, a successful concerto performance, and questionable use of caffeinated beverages. I’m looking forward to a high-quality summer and sincerely hope that our paths cross.
This June and July, I’ll be touring the northeast...
Heading west this weekend to go to the Grammys, and thought I’d drop you a line. Hope this finds you well!
Way back in December of 2011, I was preparing to leave the Turtle Island Quartet, after five great years with the group, to pursue new solo projects and collaborations. That month, we recorded an entire album with Mike Marshall, appropriately titled “Mike Marshall and the...

Jeremy was just featured on the cover of the 25th Anniversary edition of Strings. Here, take a look.
It chronicles many of Jeremy’s adventures of the past few years. Jeremy also discusses many of the joys and challenges related to being a diverse and ambitious musician these days.
A gripping tale, indeed!

I’ve had the pleasure to be involved somewhat in the Bay Area’s recording scene recently, and one of the biggest projects I’ve been working on is a game called Infamous 2, in development for Sony Playstation 3. It’s been a great project, involving a small group of strings – 1 bass, two cellos, one viola (me), and one violin – other members of the Turtle Island Quartet are playing on this as...
